z680 connectivity issues, help please!

hey guys, I have a SB Audigy 2 and Logitech z680's. I was just wondering what the best setup would be... should I buy a high quality digital coax and use the z680 decoding? I've heard that using the SB decoding through 6 channel direct connectivity is good... although I've tried that and my surround sound didn't seem to work correctly. Any help would be appreciated!
 
i have the same setup as you do. just use the 6ch analog plugs..the coax isnt worth it really imo. havent heard it with coax but it sounds fine with analog anyway. having said that, ive used headphones (HD500s) exclusively for the last 6 months or so so the Z680s sound like crap now compared to these =/ but its not the connectivity or the speakers being broken or anything..they are just average speakers really.

If you are too lazy, which by asking the question you are, your Audigy can decode just as well as your speakers so stick to analog. 'Cos if you go digital out you wont have surround in games, if that is important to you.

I'm actually not too lazy, because I did search the forums before I posted this thread. The reason I posted was because I found conflicting opinions from different members, and no real solid input on what kind of quality the digital coax was.
