Z-5500 & X-Fi Xtrememusic - optical setup?

I have a Z-5500 & XtremeMusic. Currently using the mini jack (analog), everything working fine with 5.1 setup. I want to try the digital or optical setup, can anyone tell me how?

PS. I use my computer for gaming a lot.
