ok this is seriously annoying, whenever I have my control panel on Stereo (any type of direct input, non digital) there is a very annoying hum that comes from the set. This is seriously annoying, do I have to call up logitech?

Is the amp really humming or do you hear humming from your speakers. If I have my volume knob 50-60% or greater with no input signal, I will hear humming through my speakers due to the noise of the power circuits in my apartment. As soon as I feed an input, though, there is no hum.

it could be you have it too close to an electrical equipment as it says it has to be a meter apart but if you have it too close, then you will likely hear a noise from your sub, that could be it

The hum is not related to other equipment in close proximity, and it's 22 inches, not a meter.

1 m = 3.2808 ft (decimal) = 3' - 3 4/10" (feet, inches and tenths-of-an-inch)

-or-

1 m = slightly greater than 1 yard

Americans and their stubbornness! Join the rest of the WORLD. It's called Metric and makes a shitload more sense. Well, except for the fact I have no idea how tall I am in centimetres or how many kilograms I way haha

I had the same issue with my Z-680's, but as soon as I played something the Hum/buzz went away. Maybe try higher quality speaker wire? Clean your contacts? A better powerbar or UPS?

Brad

its not that it is too close to any electrical equipment, it is at LEAST 2 metres away from anything. it is behind a APC SmartUPS 1500, so that isn't it. and the humming is there even when it is turn right off and nothing is plugged into the reciever. It isn't the speaker wire, because it doesn't hum from a digital source.

Well as long as weed is still measured in ounces I don't care

Hahahaha true say! That's funny I never realized that, and how Cocaine is measured in kilograms.

Anyways, maybe the humming is coming from the amp on the back of the Sub? You know like electrical 'noise', like when you're near power lines you hear that buzzing?

I know with car audio that if you don't have good connections the sound of the engine bay will actually play through the car speakers.

See if you can try another circuit/outlet.
I get humming from my speakers caused by a refrigator in the next room. Whenever the compressor kicks in, the speakers hum. Using two noise filters reduced the humming, but it was still intolerable. Only after I moved my PC to another room did the humming got reduced to a more tolerable level.
