I'm going to get a set for my birthday :cool: So I cannot complain, but thats the best in this price range. I want to know has it serve you well. Were you blown by the sound. Currently I have a AL 221 and a HP-890. Is there any shortcomings that I should know? besides the short rear cables. Though 5m will be enough for me.
 
they're OK for a set of 5.1 speakers with an integrated amp for the small amount of money. So by any _tough_ audio standards, they're not great :D. But if you only want to spend as much as they cost, and you need 5.1, they're as good as anything. Nothing bad has happened with my set, they work as advertised. I used Rat Shack cables to extend the rear cords.

if you're not set on those, take a look at the creative and klipsch flagships. the ultras and gigaworks. they provide a much better setup in terms of quality sound.

the logitechs have overinflated sloppy bass, underpowered tangbang drivers which provide colored and inarticulate midrange, and rolling highs. everything on the logitech is just sloppy IMO. you can do better. :)
 
I love mine. Nice, crisp and loud. and the price to boot is a bonus,.
 
I got a pair. I was going to go the Z-5500s but didn't want to spend that much for PC speakers. Plus I wouldn't have a place to put that HUGE sub. Overall I have NO complaints and ALL thumbs/fingers up for it! :D Sound is amazing on games and movies when paired up w/a A2 ZS.

I got the e version so it's black/silver. The pain on the feet is exactly the same as my 2005FPW. It also compliments my lian-li case. So yea you won't be dissapointed for mid level range speakers. They are awesome!
 
the price definitely isn't bad for the 5300s though. i say consider a far superior 2.1 set as opposed to an okay 5.1 set. :) klipsch 2.1s, altec lanscing mx5021s, swans.
 
I just got mine delivered today, I'll report back later tonight for my feedback. Im excited!
 
pinchycm: yes, comparing the 5300s to the flagship Klipsch or Creative is unfair, as the 5300s are nowhere near Logitech's flagship any more, they're two models behind being that (the 560s and 5500s). They'd be less than half the price of Klipsch and little more than half the price of Creative. I agree on 2.1s (or 2.0s) if music will be the main or an important use, but for movies and maybe games, OK 5.1 sound beats kickass 2.1 sound, IMHO. you can always get a nice pair of headphones for when you want to listen to some tunes. :)
 
These speakers are great. It plays music ok, I think my mp3s sound better on my sennheiser headphones though. But playing Far Cry and Half Life 2 with 5.1 is awesome. You can hear things behind you, in front, and to the side. I think the Bass doesn't sound too good, a little muddy, but I think I can tweak that a bit. Overall I like them.

as was said, they are from the best, but are far better than what i had :D
