z-2300's distorting

I've recently upgraded from a set of acoustic authority A-3780's to a set of logitech z-2300's, and so far, i'm not impressed. With the a-3780's i could hardly make the satellites distort, (although the sub was a different story). But, my new z-2300's sat's seem to distort at anything more then 75% volume when listenig to music. at first i tried using the sat's from the a-3780's but same deal, so this leads me to believe it's a design flawin which the amp is putting out too low frequency's for the sat's. The funny thing is, i can't find any mention of it in any review of the speakers, so i'm thinking maybe i got a faulty set. Could someone who has a set of these let me know if theirs distort at high volume? Sorry if this is hard to understand, i'm really tired.
Thanks.
EDIT: Also, sometimes the sub hits off the metal cage covering it, does this happen to anyone else?
Thanks.

My Z-2300s do not distort at high volumes. I found them pretty damn impressive in that respect. Also, my sub does not hit off the metal cage. I'm wondering if you might have got a dud.

it's very possible, or it could be my sb live 24 bit. i guess i'll bring them back and exchange them for another set.
EDIT: I found a song which makes this blaringly obvious, if anyone else with a set of these wants to give it a try.
Ludacris: Blueberry Yum Yum
Eminem: Welcome to Detroit City

does the live have bass/treble option in the volume/advanced control?? If so bass must go down a bit and adjust the bass from the speakers..

i have the eq turned off, so the output is no different from the audio file itself.
EDIT: sorry, i never answered the question. no, it doesn't, it only has left/right volume adjustment.

Could it be distortion or maybe inherent defects in the track itself? Usually, better speakers bring out the flaws better than do the more inferior speakers.

ya, no doubt. I can totally tell the diffrence from 192kbps tracks from 320kbps ones now.

Try turning the volume down in your sound card's settings to about 80%, and using the volume knob on the speakers themselves to crank it.

Yes, I own a Z-2300 and the subwoofer foam vibrates against the metal cage only when playing really low frequency music at high volumes. It seems like a design flaw, since the Z-2200 never had issues due to the different cage design.

Everything else about these speakers is great though.
