i didn't post it right away in the ugliest case contest, as i somehow cannot quite make up my mind to whether i find it really, really ugly or really cool ;)
what do you guys think of SGI's latest sibling ?

PS: sorry if posted before - i searched but couldn't find any other post

edit 1: colour is shit, so much for sure...
edit2: i wonder if you can actually open it like a fridge - from the looks of it you can. now THAT would make swapping RAM easy - you'd hardly have to move the case or stuff next to it :D

I doubt many people here will ever see one in person, unless you people have like $40k laying around :)

I think it looks kind of cool, SGI has always had interesting designs for their workstations. They're not overly flashy like the crap pre-mod cases that a lot of people buy, but they're not dull beige boxes either.

I'm sitting about 15 feet away from a dozen or so SGI workstations as well as several 8 foot cabinets containing containing numerous servers and RAID arrays...all untouched since they were put into place last year. Yeah, untouched. I was just told last week that they are planning on adding 30 more stations. I'll probably see a couple of those boxes when they do. I just wonder when they are going to use them.

No, sorry, no pics...its a secure installation.
