I am having an issue where youtube keeps dropping the play rate to the lowest resolution no matter how often I set it to HD in chrome. It seems to stay in HD in firefox. All browsers latest version.

Any idea how to fix this ?

I notice that Youtube has recently started automatically doing this if there is an interruption in your connection even if you have manually set it to HD. Only happens in Chrome. Does it on Twitch, too. Another case of Google breaking the internet?

It will happily sit there and spin all day in other browsers trying to keep the quality the same when it's manually set.

Chrome seems to work really bad with Youtube for some reason. A friend of mine has an issue where some videos report that he has no right to view them on Chrome but same videos work normally on Edge or Firefox.

Nope, it happens in firefox / waterfox too. If for some reason the buffer runs out it immediately reverts to 360p.

Besides I also noticed recently that with firefox videos won't start playing properly but instead show "an error has occured" message. But if you wait 10-15 seconds it will load anyway. I don't know if they're deliberately trying to break it.

I use Firefox exclusively and have never (well, once in thousand videos, don't remember when for the last time) seen this error and while I don't watch lots of videos, I still watch quite many, without issues.
