Whenever I watch videos on Youtube, sometimes the buffer line only moves a little at a time. BUT, when I move my mouse, the buffer line moves a lot, and the video buffers fast. What the hell? Does this happen to anyone else?

I'm using Firefox.

No. But I am on a wireless connection in my house.

That probably shoots down the thought I was having then, unless you are on an energy saving system with CPU throttling of some sort enabled.

If your system is eliminated as the cause, then that leaves the web page. Youtube videos are basically shockwave, so it's displayed by a plugin that Firefox doesn't really have control over. As far as I know, they don't need to use any kind of event handling to perform the necessary functions, so it seems unlikely that it is the page or applet design. I could be wrong on that assumption, but it seems unlikely.
