Hi , thanks for clicking on my Thread to start with.

I was curious how much performance you guys/girls squeezed out of the 9700pro.
I m not the the financial situation to buy a new card.

so i tried to overclock it.

Defaults : (325/310)
Overclock : (380/350)

cooling : Zalman80D-heatsink.

Can i squeeze more out of this thing?
 
I was able to get mine up to 418 core 375 mem on stock voltage with a AMD Heatsink on the gpu, but i only run it at 378 core 340 mem at all times.
 
I just got rid of my 9700 pro AIW. I was able to hit 396core 365memory with stock heatsink and using a Vantec Fan card.

I was able to get 2606 in 3dmark05 and 6108 in 3dmark03.

I used ATItool to get the highest possible mhz before hand.
 
why are 9700 clock speeds slower than 9600?
my 9600 pro came stock at 400/400
 
9600 was shrunk to .13 microns compared to 9700/9800's .15u. Also, 9600 was designed to be a "budget" offering in the same line-up, which meant they wanted to cut down the number of transistors compared to its bigger brothers. The end result is a card that is designed to be less efficient, and runs at higher clock speeds to make up for it.
