kind of bored over here, so i thougt i would start a thread. so everyone tell me, whats your biggest upgrade for your main computer? ie. going from 15" crt to 21" lcd or upgrading from a pentium pro to a pentium 4.
my biggest upgrade was about 12 months ago when i upgraded from an acer aspire 133mhz pentium, 1.1gb hard drive, 2mb vid card, and 800x600 15" crt. i had been using this computer since 1995-1996 and its been the only computer in my house. since then i have upgraded to the computer in my sig + a 17" samsung 78df crt and a 19 inch viewsonic a90f+.
so feel free to post your biggest upgrade of video card, whole rig, monitor, hard drives, whatever.

Mine was the Video Toaster 4000 card for my Amiga 3000.
Card was $2300 and the upgrades to the computer to support the card was almost another $1,000.
So a total of $3300 so that I could get LightWave 3D 3.1 back in 1993.

i went from a P3 866Mhz, 256MB RAM(pc133) and radeon 7000 PoS to the system in my sig, nice jump i would say

just adding another twist to the post, in addition to the previous question, what is your worst computer upgrade? ie. buying a 9200 se for $30 less than the 9600 or buying a motherboard only to to have it destroy 2 of your processors, 2 of your power supplys, your ram, and the board itself.
both of these happend to me. it was a k7n2 ultra ilsr board ($130) a athlon xp 3000+($200) a athlon xp 2400+ ($75) a antec truepower 330 ($70) a raidmax 400w LED psu (around $50) 512mb of pc2100 ($85). grand total of $405 just because i bought a crappy MSI board and tried to overclock it.
