I'm seeing as to whether I should return the ASUS I have for another ASUS or a different 9800xt. Could you tell me your best ASUS 9800xt overclock without mods? If you have modded it, list it separately.
cheers, :D

It seems that the ASUS card's performance gain is much higher than other cards, although it cannot clock nearly as high.

Asus is to AMD as ATI is to Intel.

Thanks,

I have a BB ATi 9800XT, and with the stock cooler, it does (so far) 475/415. There are slight artifacts in 3dmark, but it hasnt locked up yet. I havent tried any higher yet. Its 100% stock, havent changed a thing.

No offense intended fallguy but (and this is directed at many) why do people quote unstable OC's? The playing field isn't exactly even under these circumstances.

I'm pretty sure I could get my 9800 Pro to run much faster than 435 with artifacts but why would I want to? If it were possible to legislate such things :) I would insist that nobody could claim unstable or obviously "wrong" overclocks.

you can see slight artifacts in the nature scene of 2003 and not see artifacts anywhere else

Who said it was unstable? The only thing it artifacts in is 3dmark. I ran the same settings in BF and CoD, and there was no artifcting. It runs thru 3dmark03 without locking up, with only the "white dot" artifacts in the nature sceen.

Completes it just fine.

If it completes it with artifacts it don´t complete it just fine ;)

But I guess you run with all eye candy off to maximize your score so you could in theory run a black screen and be happy if you just get the results

It is fine at that speed if it doesnt artifact in games. Why is that so hard to understand? I use 3dmark to test for artifacts, and the highest stable overclock I can get. Its so much easier than any game to do that. The nature sceen has those white dot artifacts far before any game for me, for some reason.

Gexcube 9800 XT, absolutely same as the BBA cards. See sig. This is what is absolutely and utterly artifact-free, even in that torturous real-time lighting demo. And according to the latest ATI Tool.
