Seriously..Looking over all these posts I notice people talking about SLI 7800 GTX's and $500.00 - $1,000 dual core processors.. I mean wow, what is the secret to affording all of this...Is there an undergound to join to get this stuff on the cheap or what? So yo! Check it out. I have been fragging along with my good old 9700 pro and 3.2 northwood GHZ processor and 512 mb RAM for 3+years now and finally, finally, finally after kicking and screaming and begging my wife, she gave in and let me get 2 Mb of RAM and and brand new, Not Ebay used, BFG 7800 GS OC..Of course I had to sell my old stuff first...I wasn't even gonna go so far as to ask if I could upgrade to PCI, stop why you are ahead I say. So now I can plug along for another couple of years with my new digs... I am soo happy that I can play Half Life II now without any hiccups..So to all of you out there with AMD FX 60 Dual cores, water cooling and dual SLI Nvidia 7800 GTX's you got it good. :

So for those of you who wife and children and still have cases on Steriods...What is your secret?

Dan.

I saved a bunch of money on car insurance.

Seriously, I saved a bunch of money last year thanks to being stationed in Korea (Air Force). I'd never imagine I'd spend $571 on a video card but it's over and done with now.

I got my couch very comfortable.......

I got in an argument with my wife, and during the time we didn't speak for two days I ordered my rig in my sig on a credit card.....

I eventually let her know I ordered it, and she cried.

I was happy, though. Still paying for the thing, but it was worth it. Even though our couch became my home for about two weeks.

My son and I love gaming on it.

I used some carryover parts from my last rig, the whole thing cost me about $1200. The rest came from my old rig, and it was probably about $400 worth of stuff.

This is a topic better suited for General Mayhem. I'd invite you guys to take this discussion there.
