Yorkfeild on NewEgg.

I just about lost my mind when I paid $969.00 for my QX6700.. At $1,300 bucks, Intel can keep it. Hello overclock.
 
I thought Yorksfield was gonna be 1333mhz fsb and shared l2 cache? :confused:
 
I don't think that's a Yorlfield. I think CPU-Z identifies the QX6800 as Kentsfield. As far as I know, it's just a speed bump from 2.66GHz to 2.93GHz. Not a redesign or enhancement of the core.

According to Wikipedia this is the case and the QX6800 is NOT a Yorkfield chip. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kentsfield#Kentsfield

1333MHz, 45nm and it will have 12MB of L2 from what I understand. Taken from the Wikipedia article which is spot on from everything I've heard.

"Wolfdale will be the desktop version of Penryn, with two cores sharing 6 MiB of L2 cache and 1333 MHz FSB. Two Wolfdale dies on a single module will make up a Yorkfield chip, the successor to the Kentsfield processor.[31]. Each die will share 6 MiB L2 cache, for a total of 12 MiB, and this chip will also have a 1333 MHz FSB. These processors are expected to become available in late 2007 or early 2008, and the platform will support DDR3. At the Intel Developer Forum 2007 a Yorkfield cpu was compared with a Kentsfield cpu. [32][33]

Demo Yorkfield spotted: Stock at 3.33GHz"

So Newegg seems to have screwed up their listing.

I checked the Newegg link this morning 6/12 @ ~9am and the CPU info has been corrected to the appropriate Kentsfield nomenclature.

Nothing to see here, move along...
 
This is it, QX6800 cpu is the last Kentsfield line. After this they are gona start coming out with Yorkfield by end of this year and beginning of next year part of their new 45nm cpu lines.
