Okay I have been reading through many of the treads here in the PSU section to see what Info I can come up with so I can buy a new PSU. I have read through the PSU Stickys (what is or is not good as well as the best ones to get)
Now the reason Im in need of a new PSU can be found here,,, I put the link rather than retype everything.

Now I just have to decide??

Will it be the:
Enermax Liberty 620W Modular I have heard good & well not to good about in other posts and kinda pricey.

SilverStone SST-ST60F 600Watt Have yet to hear anything negative, and the way I see it, for the price and what you would get it is not bad at all and I guess I could get the sleaving and do it my self.

Hiper Modular Type-R 580 Watt I have heard more good than bad and the price is just about as low you can go with a PSU of this wattage. And I would think the Gold connectors are a good thing, well as I have read that is. And I do like the way the connectors are  , they seem to be, well at least look like they are pretty solid with no wiggle room.

Basically, I would like to hear what the PSU GuRu's :p think and anyone else that may already have either of the above PSU's, be it good, not so good, bad, terrible. I don't mind spending a few extra Duckets as long as I know the product is going to be good and last as well as be able to do the job sorta speak. That is why I spent what I did on my currant PSU, except for the fact that it does not stand up to what I need it for and thought that it would when I got it.

Thanks for ya time. :D

Yes, spending the money to get a quality PSU is definitely worth it in the long run. :) (As with pretty much all computer parts.)

SilverStone is supposed to be very good although I have no personal experience. Have you looked to see if PPCs carries it? I think they do free sleeving.

Yeah I checked them out and they do not carry it, and I have tried several places and it just so happens that very few do carry it.
Oh and I should have mentioned that I posted this thread because, the threads I did read were already several months old and was not sure what may have changed.

oh, also, unfortunately i could only find it at newegg among my top favorite shops (zzf, jabtech, etc). but shipping was only $6.99 from their NJ warehouse to me, TampaFL

whats funny is i ordered a Dvdrom (nec3550a), 250g WD, AND the PSU.. and it was only 11lbs. i was expecting 20+.. but i guess the stuff is all mostly oem

Yeah Newegg is top notch, I ordered my X1900 XTX on the 12th and UPS Delivered it on the 13th, shipped from the New Jersey Warehouse at $5 shipping cost  which is why I have to get a new PSU

Well, just ordered a Seasonic SC-12 ( I believe) 500 watt. Can't wait to get it based on my reading here.

After doing a bit of research, I saw a couple posts. I am in need of an upgrade because my current (haha) FSP 530W only has 18A rated on the 12v rail. I just received email from evga that I'm ready for the 7900GT CO step-up, and they recommend a minimum of 28A on 12v rail.

Anyhow, I was a bit worried. so I did some reading.

here's a similar situation where you have a oem and retail company selling almost if not the exact same supply ... this time it is the silverstone strider 600w that normally goes for around 150 is OEM'd by Enhance which sells no doubt the same exact unit for 100.

Here is the killer deal ATM. Review, read it well. http://www.jonnyguru.com/PSU/ST60F/ Google for other reviews, systemscooling has a good review,IIRC.

Buy this now because they won't be around long at this price. http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-EN0560G It's the exact same PSU in the linked review.

I'm too lazy to link: Scroll down this GH page and read the thread in total, titled:
"Replacing my Antec Neopower 480 PSU"

I will not come back into this thread to do any convincing, as I did in the above un-linked thread. This deal is so good, I bought one with no real build planed for it's use yet.
I have two Zippy/Emacs and a Fortron in use at present.

...Galvanized

So, to ease my mind, I just went on over to ewiz after reading a couple more reviews on the Seasonic Strider 600W and then ordered.

I now have the PSU installed, and everything is running great. I don't have a multimeter, but my +12 v rail is reading 12.2 in the bios. the cpu voltage is more accurate, and everything is just great. Awesome PSU, very cheap!

Just got home from work a lil while ago, I wanted to thank ya for the reply. the other thing I ran across yesterday but, I needed to get some sleep before work, was some reviews of people that already have the "SilverStone SST-ST60F 600Watt" and it kinda had me a little on edge about the PSU. At least 4 and i think it was a few more that had said that when they did get the PSU, the 4 pin molexs were not wired properly and it cause some mayjor problems, but once the molex wiring problem was fixed the PSU was rock solid. I do not have the equipment to do any kind of testing on a psu to make sure of the correct wiring of a or any molexs. the user reviews I saw were off of NewEgg by the way, but I have not seen any other user reviews of it else were except for a few here you being one of them, and that it is on the Aproved PSU sticky. oh yeah I was planning on ordering A PSU later today, its PAYDAY Wooo Hooo :D

EDIT::
Well it is confirmed, the PSU is not suppling the proper AMPS to the XTX, just got off the Phone with ATI Tech and basicly the Antec Neo 480 is just not enough Juice. Im only getting 24A min - 26A max on the 12v rail and as per ATI tech, the XTX needs to be fed 30A & 38A in a Crossfire set up. And so off I go to order a new PSU.

I did check ATI and the CrossFire Certified Power Supplies: ARE NeoHE 550 / EPSILON FX700-GLN / EPSILON FX600-GLN / Thermaltake and Sparkle 650W FSP650-80GLC ?? I put the above links in here for those that are or were wondering which ones they are.

I have seen several people state there was a problem with Antec Neo HE 550, and yet ATI still stands by the Neo HE 550, also on the same hand, I have seen here on the [H] a Responce From Antec if you have not seen it yet. And this thread from an AntecRep. Im not sure if the links I put here about the AntecRep are going to lead to the same posting but I did not read very much into it, since it does not apply to me and my set up.

Oh yeah and here is the linky to the ATI Certs Page for those wish to check it out.

I Thank you all for your lending a hand and helping me figure this out.

Okay I tool the Plunge :p I just finished ordering the,,, now are ready fer this,,, cringing & ducking from the flames :D Hiper Modular Type-R 580W Power Supply - SLI Ready - Black and the other thing I did want to say is that while on the phone with them at FrozenCPU and after My order was complete. The guy told me, they were at this time in house Running performance tests and the system is a dual Core CPU, 7800 SLI set up with the Hyper 580W PSU and that it was holding very solid. I am taking his word on it, seeing as I can not see it, and I guess that he said this after taking my order to try and make me feel secure with my purchase. (But I would hope & like to think he did not)

PS: Update to come in about 4 days or so

no flames from me...
You did find some reviews before purchasing, right?

http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/reviews/cases/Hiper_TypeR_580W_6.html

Yes that I did do, I looked for as many reviews as I could find, and that was one of them, I went with this one for the type modular design, it looks to be a solid design with no wiggle room or mishap in a connection coming loose. As soon as I get it, I will post my comments on it.
