Yet another speaker question..

Hello folks.

I've been doing my fair share of research on these forums and numerous other forums.
Ironically, instead of finding a solution I am getting more confused.
I was hoping ya'll could help me out.

First thing first. I am not a music freak. I do have a lot of mp3s but I hardly listen to them.
However, I am a gaming and movie freak. I want EXCELLENT (yet affordable) surround sound. Surround-sound quality and voice clarity are the most important points for me. I dont care about the volume(power) or all that other stuff.

I've decided to go for the Audigy 2 ZS.... because, well, they are very popular and I am not aware of any other comparable alternatives. Someone mentioned the Hercules Fortissimo or something. I feel kinda safe going for the Audigy2 ZS. Any comments on my decision?

Ok, now here is the real issue.
Speakers... obviously I want surround sound speakers. But I dunno whether to go for 5.1, or 6.1 or 7.1 I know 7.1 is a gimmick but I can get the Creative Inspire 7.1 speakers (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=36-116-140&depa=0) for apprx the price of a 5.1 speaker system.

My budget for speakers is around 150$
