I just ordered this stuff today (using a PO through work... it all had to be from Tigerdirect cause thats our supplier) for my personal workstation. Its one of the standard corporate things... its getting close to the end of the year, we are under budget, spend some money kinda things.

MSI K8NNEO2-Platinum
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
NEC ND3500
Chieftec Matrix Carbon Black and Silver Case (its the cheapest one they have)
Abit Radeon 9600XT
Enermax Noisetaker 470-Watt
Kingston HyperX 1024MB
Western Digital Raptor 74GB

I was told I had $1,000 - $1,500 to spend and this is what I spec'd out. We have a supply of fans, and other misc componenets. I already have a nice Benq 17" LCD, keyboard, and mouse.
What do you guys (and gals) think about this system?

P.S. I know it is overkill for a workstation, but we have storage servers so I dont need huge drives. And when things are slow maybe I'll try a game or 2 lol

Is your 'personal workstation' to be used at home or with games in any way, shape or form? A 9600XT for $190 seems a somewhat optimistic price given what can be had for just a fraction more.
