Yet Another "Rate my Build" thread

Just tried to play the Witcher 2, and it laughed derisively at my current setup--which I realize now was pieced together FIVE YEARS ago. Upside--got good bang for my buck!

So, I'm tossing together a new system to enrich Newegg and power me through another couple of years.Obligatory checklist:

1) What will you be doing with this PC?
Gaming
2) What's your budget?

3) Where do you live?
Florida
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need
Everything CPU/RAM/Mobo/VC/PSU/HDDs/Case (why not?).
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Possibly reusing optical drives.
6) Will you be overclocking?
Whatever I can get off of air.
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
20-23"
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Now/within a week!
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
Latest and greatest. RAID/Crossfire/SLI would be nice.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

How does this look? The mobo is currently out of stock at Newegg; if this build looks good I'll try to source it elsewhere. Conversely, if there's a better board out there I'm all ears!

Solid build! Only thing I would do is up the ram to 8gigs... 4 is prob enough but with lots of stuff open.ive gone past it 2-3 times.. A year or 2 down tge road I imagine il be passing 4gigs alot more often

Last I checked 2 x 4GB = 8gb.

Solid build. Personally I would go with a Corsair or Seasonic power supply. Looks like you want modular, so that would leave the AX or HX line from Corsair or the X series from Seasonic.

750watts is overkill unless you are expecting to do crossfire at a later date.

The C300 is a great drive. The OCZ Vertex 3 uses a newer controller and is faster, but I doubt it would make a much noticeable improvement on load times. The C300 is also tried and tested.

WD Black drives might have the edge now days, but that margin is low as well. Plus those drives sell at a premium.

Good luck on unlocking that 6950 to a 6970. I THINK Newegg is one of the people still selling the MSI cards that will unlock.

Overall solid build. I would just replace the Antec for a Corsair as a personal preference.
