Hi, i've just ordered the Toughpower 1200W, it havn't shipped yet and im starting to get secon d thoughts. i know i don't NEED the power, since i won't be having such a badass system,

e6600,pc8500 Dominator 2gb, Asus p5b Premium, raptor 10K 74Gb, 2x Maxtor 250Gb, 7800Gt (will be changed into something better/newer, waiting to se how 2900 will come around with better drivers and all)

the thing is i want a really nice PSU that won't hold back my OC, Using a Vapochill Lightspeed for cooling.

so what do you think? is the toughpower 1.2Kw a good future investment? that will last for some time?
 
In a pinch, the Toughpower 1200W can be placed into a pillow case and used for self defense.
 
when you hooked up ur pc, you can also connect it to ur frige and ur microwave, and still have room for "OC"
 
The toughpower 1200 will also power a particle accelerator.
 
To read between the lines for a moment the inference was that it certainly isn't going to be under powered and it is a good power supply. So while probably way over the top for you current system there is no reason to be worried about it beyond that.

im kinda hoping it will be future proof so that i can use it for hopefully a couple of years.

I'm getting the same PSU. I thought about getting the 1kW version, but its bigger brother is only £8 more so i might as well get it. It's going to be powering a similar system, although with an 8800GTX. To be honest, i was going to get the Silverstone OP1000 originally, but the more powerfull Thermaltake unit is cheaper, has modular cables and a larger fan. For me, it seems like a good investment.
