I just built a computer. I am pretty familiar with the process and have built several others. When i turn the computer on everything seems to be getting power, but the computer does not POST. show any display, or make any kind of beeping sound. I have gone through several times and checked to make sure everything is plugged in correctly and all of the way. I have taken the ram out and put it back in. Both sticks of ram are in the correct slots for dual channel (4 slots total, tried in both channels and tried with 1 stick in each channel). I have also tried ram from another computer which did not help. I have turned computer off and unplugged power cord and held power button then turned back on. I have pulled the battery off of the mobo and put back in. I have also unplugged everything except for the cpu fan. hdd, and dvd-rom to see if it was a power issue. I do not know what else to try.

Here are the specs (note that it has onboard video)
- ASUS A8N-VM
- 2x512Mb Corsair PC3200 Value
- Seagate 80Gb SATA drive
- DVD-ROM
- 330W PSU
- SI-97A w/92mm Panaflo

Thanks for any help.

Had the same exact thing happen to me two days ago. Put the computer together and everything was running perfectly, then moved it to another room and got nothing. No video, no post, no beeps or anything. I tried powering the system on with just the mobo/cpu/psu and got a few beeps. Either way, I just sent in the mobo and video card for RMA and am hoping this fixes the problem. If not, I am assuming the CPU is done.

Chaintech NF4 Ultra was my first mobo, ordered a ASUS A8N-E instead.
XFX 6800gs video card. Goodluck with your system, I was ready to swing afterwards.

So basically considering i took all of the steps that i did, I should just RMA the mobo (considering it has onboard video)?

Bad power supply? Did you check all the connections for the front switch? otherwise yeah maybe the mobo. Sorry I cant be much more helpful. :(

I thought if it was a bad PSU then it would power up then shut down, and it would give me some kind of beep to show that it is not getting the correct amount of power.

whats the brand of the psu?

very often people skimp on this, and it quite often turns out very badly.

just remember, you get what you pay for.
