Yet another GPU advice needed

I'm in the process of building a new rig and am looking for some opinions as to what card route to go.

The rig will be
i7 2600k
Asus Maximus 4 Gene
Silverstone TJ08-E case
16 GB DDR3 1866 G.Skill
Some SSD's thrown in.
Thinking of either a 650w or 750w power supply.

Monitor is not chosen yet, but I'm leaning towards a 27 inch, so think worst case of 2560x1440.

Primary use will be gaming, mostly things like Skyrim, Old Republic, Planetside 2, etc.

Requirements:
Since it's a TJ08-E, I have size restrictions, max of 13.3 inches.
I'd like it to exhaust out of the case to the rear.
Quiet as possible.
Cool as possible.
Black and Red if possible to match the rest of the components.


My thoughts are down 2 routes:
1) Get an interim card, like a 560ti level until the next gen comes out from AMD and Nvidia. This should get me through the first few months of Skyrim and Old republic.

2) Get a 570 level card, and wait until middle of next year to upgrade video card.


I'm not tied to either Nvidia or AMD, just want a stable, fast, cool card, money isn't a problem.


Thoughts?
 
Here's what I'd suggest.

Great card, should push your intended resolution pretty well until you upgrade in the fall.
Runs cool and quiet, primarily exhausts out the rear, but some will drift into the case.

This card has the ability to be flashed to gain HD 6970 shader count, see here: http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/msi_r6950_twin_froz_iii_power_edition_unlocking,1.html and the sapphire Trixx or msi afterburner can be used to bump the GPU clock pretty high as you can see.

This has proven to be a great card. I had three of the reference HD 6950s and they are very excellent cards. Card length is only 10.5 inches with connectors on the side.

I'd recommend 750W, not so much for this card but for whatever you buy next; however AMD seems to be a little less power hungry.:D

This is where your problem is going to be. Generally solutions that blow out of your case also tend to be loud and hot. I have owned 4 of these types of cards (x850xt, 8800gts, 4870 and 6950 2gb) and I will never buy one again after my Asus Direct CU. A TJ08-E has very good air flow through it so I would go with something with an aftermarket cooler from Asus, MSI or Gigabyte.
 
Umm for like 30 dollars more you can get a hella of a lot more card with a 6970. Just sayin!
 
If you don't say the type of games you play, it's tough to give a good answer. Generally I'd say you'll want a 6950.
