Hi everyone, I'm looking to get a new gaming laptop within the next 3 weeks or so. I want something that's 5lbs or less in weight with a screen resolution no lower than 1080p and (hopefully) 6 hours of battery life. I don't really want anything larger that 15.6 inches and my budget is about 2k (but if I can get something around 1.5k it would be awesome).

I've looked at the Razer Blade but the resolution is just too low for me. I've also been looking at the MSI GE40 2OC-009US but it seems it has some heat issues. Another contender is either the P34G or the P35K-CF2 from Gigabyte.

I would love to hear everyones' suggestions as to what I should go for.

Thanks!

Not the battery life your looking for but this one I have my eye on right now.

Sager NP7330 (Clevo W230ST)

I didn't even look into this one. You're right, the Sager would fit perfectly if it only got a bit more battery life. I thought the nVidia Optimus stuff was supposed to help with battery drain when not gaming (keep in mind, I definitely do not expect more than an hour or two of power while gaming on battery power)

What about the OriginPC EON13-S? The specs seem like it's a rebrand of to the NP7730.

Those systems wont do that battery life, you would need to step up to the bigger gt series to get more.

After doing some further research I think I'll go with the Gigabyte P34G. It seems the best compromise between size, heat, screen quality, price and looks.

Does anyone here own one? Any experiences to share?

careful as the P35k line has bending issues, want to make sure that one does not as well!

Thanks for the link. I actually received my P34G 2 weeks ago and have been loving it (mostly). The only problem I've had is with the Intel 7260-N wifi card but that's actually an Intel issue and not a Gigabyte one.

This flex issue seems to be isolated to the P35K series due to the optical drive and weak material around it. The P34G doesn't seem to have any weak points like that and this thing has been pretty solid IMO.
