I would be more jazzed about it if it had room for large air coolers.

My three main systems (see sig) all use silverstone cases, and i'm looking forward to the fourth using a non-handle Sugo 04 case.
 
Pretty but pricey though. I've never really looked in detail at the difference between the SG03 and the SG04. One had a handle and one didnt originally. Both have room for dual intake 120mm fans and both have room for dual long video cards. Both will house a large atx psu. I've seen one person here at HF slide a 1000w psu in a SG03. Other than a different face is there any difference?
 
Internally, there is no difference between the SG03 and SG04. They're virtually identical.

In other words, it's still not worth getting if you have any intentions of overclocking your processor.
 
Yeah, I was loooking at the SS site again and they claim it has superior cooling but I dont see it. They also claim is has more expansion slots.

Edit They both lack a rear exhaust which in my opinion is one of its biggest design drawbacks. The other is that it being like many SFF it doesnt allow much room for larger HSF which is especially needed for quad chips nowadays.

The SG04's "superior cooling" comes in the front, where you could hold two 120mm fans.

Considering that the front of the SG04 restricts more air coming in than the SG03, however, I find that debatable.

(It's not that I don't like the look of the SG04, but as a former owner of the SG03, I believe that there are better tower-style mATX cases available.)
 
The biggest difference between SG03 and SG04/SG04-H is in the material used for the main body. SG03 is an all aluminum case (with steel lower brace) while SG04 and SG04-H have aluminum exterior (front, top, bottom, side panels) with steel interior.
 
I prefer the SG03 to the SG04 because front vent = better airflow than a door you have to open.

1. Are you really a rep for Silverstone?

2. If so, good call on the case material, steel is heavier, but it helps prevent acoustic noise and rattling that I hate in aluminum cases.

3. Praise Jesus that you guys got your act together, changed your mind about and you released this case in the USA

Which also equates to more noise output, as well the side vents also allow for more noise and dust to enter as well, both of which im tired of in my SG01

The door is only needed to be opened if you want to clean/access the filter/fans. Beyond that, yes, I agree, im done with doors too after my P180.
 
Granted, I know the SG04B doesn't have the full unrestricted front panel like the SG03 does, but this shows perfectly what I find so awesome about this case. Twin 120mm fans are enough to get plenty of air flow going in and out of the case without having to deal with noise issues of using 80mm fans.

they are not awesome-uber-mega-maxi overclocking cases, but i have been running a Q6700 just fine for over a year in my 03, and that is using the old NT06 cooler, not the new NT06e.

how come the SG04-H sells for around 50% than SG03?

is that a local pricing anomaly, or is the list price 50% higher, and if so, why?

Very true... I'd like to acquire a solid side panel for mine, then I'd have the best of both models.

I have two 120mm fans in my SG03... I think anyone here who has one has added a 2nd or replaced the Silverstone with a pair of fans.
 
given that my plan for the new PC is:
1. DX 11 GPU
2. 8 series AMD chipset
3. Cheap 3.2GHz PII quad
4. Cheap'ish 120+GB SSD
three or four months is just fine. :)

I use two 120mm fans in my SG03. I really like my SG03. Never have understood why some people think its a noisy case. I use the 'F' model Scythe Flex in mine and its quiet. I dont overclock it though. Like I said the biggest drawback is lack of rear exhaust and HSF limitation although its not a problem in my rig as far as the NT06 goes and the case has room to mod a fan on top of the case in the back if a person wants to. Which I would do if I was to do it all over again. Especially if I was going to overclock. I'm guessing the SG04 has room to do that also? It is a nice looking case to be sure. Just a bit pricey is all. :)

The SG03 has been out for awhile which means older = lower price. The SG04F is newer so it will command a higher price point, thats just the way supply and demand works

Well, everything WAS going really well until my fucking Seagate decided to take a shit on me for no apparent reason. Now I gotta wait for my replacement drive before I can fire this thing up AND rebuild the OS. Last Seagate HDD I ever purchase...

I'm waiting for mine to arrive, which I ordered last week. I have a tracking ETA of Thursday, and I'm leaving town on Friday for the weekend, so I won't get to do my build until next week. Grrrr. Sorry to hear about the hard drive.

Notwithstanding the HDD failure, how has your experience been with assembly with this case? I've done SFF systems before, but never a mini tower like this. I went through SS's manual and it looks like its going to be slightly complex, which is to be expected I guess. I'm especially curious as to how you managed the PSU and connections. That's always the first thing I put in....
