Currently I have been staying with an AMD XPm 2400+(overclocked to 200fsb/2.3ghz) with 1 gig of ram, 6600GT vid card on an Abit AN7.

I am thinking of purchasing the Intel Pentium D 805 with an ASRock 775Dual-880Pro board. Would I see a big improvement with this setup keeping the vid card and ram the way they currently are(untill I can get something better of course)?

To help out, I do graphic work in Photoshop and model building in XSI along with gaming.

If you can splurge, get a 900 series CPU instead if your mobo supports it (the 805 is a beefed up Celeron with more cache, but dual core). That said, it's still fantastic bang for your buck and yes, you will see a nice improvement :)
