toddw said:1987 and my Commodore 64. I spent a whole summer vacation playing Ultima IV and can still remember when I finally beat it one night at 2am. I played all the old Ultimas (including the then re-released Ultima I) and all the old Bard's Tales I-III. Those games were *it* for me..
The first computer I manage to put my hand on, is the school computer, a CBM 8032. 80 stands for 80 column, and 32 stands for 32 K of RAM. And it's a monochrome computer with lots of games in machine language.
At the time, it was a thrill because it was a much better computer than an older model called the PET--Personal Electronic Translator.
The screen is fused w/ the CPU itself, and the floppy disk drive is about the same size as a VCR, now, that's an External Floppy Drive.
