Well, over the past few days my computer had been giving me BSDs almost every time I would exit a game.. and sometimes on Windows startup.
I knew my power supply had a bad cap (Antec TruePower 2.0 480w) and I was hoping that was the problem.
After looking at some reviews ... thanks HOCP and tech report, I decided to go looking and see what I could find locally.
It just so happens that CompUSA had the Antec Trupower TRIO 650w on sale for $119 (horrible regular price of 160)... and they also have a $50 mail in rebate - have to buy by 10-06-2007.
Since I have been using Antec for a while now.. this new one being my 3rd, and since it was cheaper after rebate than even buying from Newegg (about $80 total after counting taxes and rebate), I decided to get one.
And.. what do ya know.. no more BSoDs
Now to re-cap the 480w when I get some time so I can have a spare laying around.
BTW- My original Antec 450w is still churning away in a friend's computer after 5-6 years.
