I know its been done before... but whatever... heres my ghetto winter cooling.. works rather well too if you ask me.. at least for for that long of a prime....on air. Anyways... heres some pics.. they are rather self-explanitory...

the overview of the setup.. powersupply running beneath the window for the intake fans... your basic plastic vent tubing... and duct-tape..
compcloseup0df.jpg

view of the hookup to the computer.. a 60mm fan to blow the air towards the videocard... 80mm on the proc.. with vent work taped to it...

close-up of the processor hookup.

temps after 23 hours of prime (didn't feel like waiting for the other part of the last hour to finish)

So what do you guys think?

u must be freezing bro!

too bad weather don't get that cold here in the bay
Lol actually its not cold at all really in my room.. its only 43F outside... this cooling won't last to much longer.. and warmth comes all to early in South Cakalaky.

Nice, its alot better than the ghetto rig I tried once with a huge window fan aiming directly into the open side of the case when it was 8F outside in Maine - I was cold....

Hard to anything like that now though in North Cakalak :0 62F today w00t!

dammit! i thought of that first!

i have a vent running from my window into the intake 120mm fan on my TJ03.

i love it.

the part that sticks in the window for mine, i used a nice piece of cardboard so its nice and airtight.

drops the load temps of my vid card AND processors around 10c

talk about cool! (i'll post pics when i get home)

wow nice.....just a question doesnt the mess annoy you? :p

what are the temps for ur cpu?

I'll have to try that... it's -25 degrees Celsius up here in Canada right now... w00t!

not everywhere in canada. -15 C with the wind over here in southern ontario.

You know... I have seen a few of these and though the temps are awesome in the winter, I do wonder...what are you guys going to do in the summer? A/C unit venting?

in the summer getting the heat out of the room at all is a bonus...........it's not efficient, but using a few extra fans to get some proc heat out the window instead of into the room would be really nice.

I hear ya 1337m0dd3r, that is awesome, I really like your thinking! I also love the winter! I open up the door that leads into a walk in attic and use my AC unit. :) Have not even used it but a couple of times this winter though due to low freon and I have been told that you can come out cheaper by replacing the unit..CPU >> 16C under load @ 1.55V on a cold winters night.
And it helps the RAM a great deal also, as well as the GPU... ;)
