Okay, so I'm not going to knit a computer case (yet...), but I once saw someone use some yarn for wire management on some mod site, and I'm contemplating it for my own case. I've got a serious wire management project planned for this weekend, and while I have tons of zip ties and a sleeving kit, I was also contemplating using some yarn to wrap cables that I didn't want to zip tie or sleeve. So, what do we think? Problems with lint?

EDIT: I totally think that someone should knit a computer case. That would be totally [H]ard. :p
 
The biggest problem I see with yarn is that in using it you could ESD zap your components. I don't know who decided to use yarn inside their computer case, but it doesn't sound smart to me.
 
I actually don't think it was the yarn you're thinking of. It was the kind you use to tie up a ham and cook with. Not sure on the name. I remember seeing that mod too. not sure where though.
 
Nope, I saw one where a guy used actual, grannies-buy-it-for-knitting yarn. He used pretty colors too. Oooohhh...colors...
 
If it wasn't made of nylon or wool, it would probably be OK. But then again, what yarn isn't made of nylon or wool? Polyester I spose.

TWINE?

This mod was done in the "rate my cables" thread. Someone did cable lacing using some type of twine. Pretty neat looking imvho
 
I remember that one, it was a custom wood case, I can't remember who it was though. The case was pretty cool looking, the colors where stained wood and blue.
 
You need a roll of this stuff, had a part time job making cable looms when i was at college, and this is what i used.
