1. Where is the FAQ??? I need the guide to figure out how to rip my cd's again so I don't have to use Winamp.

2. Is the HDA card really all that much better than a creative 2zs? If I am listening to music nonstop (dvd audio and cd's) and watching dvd's almost 3 a week, is it worth me putting my audigy away for it?

Just got a deal on this... 250.00 bucks brand new. Plugged my computer in using the direct inputs and just using the standard Klipsch Promedia speakers I am VERY impressed!!! Sound is incredible.

My sub is a NHT SW2P going through a NHT MA-1A amp.
Really nice sound quality, clear highes, bass is a little quiet sometimes, but during songs with alot of bass I can hear it, still little quiet.

Thanks guys for the recomendation of running my computer audio through a reviever. :)
 
Well first off, what's your budget? What'll you be using these for? If music is in the equation, what kind of music?

And where'd the FAQ go? :eek:

lets say I am looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers. around 150-250 for the pair? you tell me is that unreasonable??

Not at all. A good pair of bookshelf speakers can be had in that range. My personal and most-certainly biased opinion ( :D ) would be the Fosgate FA51.0.

I have a pair and I love them. Great speakers for the money. There are, of course, other choices out there, but on a bang-for-buck basis, I'd have to say these are awesome.

On the sound card, if you were to only be using 2 channels, the Chaintech AV-710 has great sound on the ?7 and 8? channels for 2 channel. However, if surround is your aim, the HDA or the TB Montego are both good choices for DDL.

good I like some biased opnion.....just tell me what do you like in a speaker? Clarity or bass or highs?

Overall the sound I like is a warm clear signal. Bass should be there, but not washing out the highes, and vise versa. I tend to find this kind of sound with teh Prodigies and Klipsch speakers. So with the sound card, and of course I will still be using surround sound (4.1 for now) is the HDA card worth it? The only games I play are BF2 and Guild Wars, guild wars ss is not really an issue and with BF2 I could care less at this point after everything that has gone wrong with it.

Ok what I have right now are a pair of Canton speakers... don't think they are even rated at 8ohms... only 6 if I remember correctly. And for the back I have a pair of Nakamichi speakers.

also I see fluance speakers come up alot, what's the deal with them?
