Y splitting inquiry

I have the apex ultra kit and a stasis neptune block. I was thinking about putting in a Y section after I add my chipset block

pump -> Y -> CPU -- -- -- -- -- -> Y -> rad, res
-> chipset -> GPU ->

what do you guys think? I have the MCW655 pump so I dont think flow should be a problem.
 
Actually it is difficult to figure out what way the coolant will go. If you decide to do this I would suggest you put valves in so you can force the coolant to go the way you want it to.

The Y would split between the CPU/chipset line and the GPU line. Then come back together. I really dont want the CPU and chipsets heat to affect the GPU as the gfx card gets hotter than both my CPU and chipset. so i was curious if a Y section would work and/or how effective would it be to implement one...my current (future loop) will be Pump -> (chipset ->) CPU -> GPU -> Rad -> Res and my GPU idles at like 42C when it should at around 35C so im guessing its getting some of the heat from my CPU block. Would the Y split be useful? or would my temps stay the same?
 
after ure system has been on for an hour or so the temp will settle and be the same at all points of the loop, i think splitting it up this way is not worth the extra tubing complications.

your temps would stay the same or worsen, keep it all in series.

Neither the cpu nor the chipset is raising the water temperature by very much, 1-2C tops depending upon flow rate and heat output of your cpu. Splitting the flow will lessen the flowrate through your GPU block, which reduces its effectiveness. That loss is probably more than the gain of having minimally cooler water.
