xvid sound codec

does anyone know where i can find a sound codec for an xvid movie, i got the xvid codec but it only helps with the video but now i have no sound..

AFAIK Xvid is only for video. It'll be a different codec for audio. Could be something like OGG, or MP4 audio. Maybe something voodoo.

AC3filter is another candidate, if they didn't transcode the original stream.

Try using the GSpot Codec Information Appliance to tell you which codecs you need to play your file. Just install it and point it at your video file and it'll tell you what codecs you need. As stated above, AC3Filter is probably what you need though.

no such thing. xvid is for video. get this http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Encoders-Converter-DIVX-Related/GSpot.shtml and it will tell you what audio codec it is. you can probably go to doom9.org after or do a google search to find it after.

I'd be about 90% sure that you need AC3filter . And if you ever need more info about AV encoding goto www.doom9.net
