Hi All,

Anyone know if the XSPC Rasa GPU universal block is compatible with AMD 7950 card?

I have a MSI Twin Frzn 3gb 7950 from a birthday present, so I am wondering if my xspc rasa gpu block will fit it. Does not say on XSPC's website.

I know for swiftech there is a bracket, not sure about the XSPC.

Thanks

If it mounts in anyway like the MCW82, you'll need a copper shim between the core and the block.

Sorry for bumping this one...

I am waiting for a Gigabyte 7970 OC Rev 2.1 to be delivered. Unfortunatelly I did not know that it is not reference designed, so I cannot use a full cover block.

I do own Swiftech MCW80, so I can use this one to make it work.

However I am wondering if I would have any problems with the mosfets or any other part that it would remain without cooling. Ofcourse I am planning to use passive cooling on memory chips, but what about the other parts?

Just add some heatsinks to the bigger MOSFETs. And it'll be fine. I use enzotech ones

Thanx bmoney9 :)

Have you checked temps on mosfets? If yes, what soft are you using? I tried GPUz & HW-Monitor however none displays mosfets temps...

I'd just grab a new MCW82 made for the 7900's

The adapter kit that he posted converts the MCW80 into a MCW82-7900 and it costs less money than buying a whole new block.

but then he'd have two blocks, and can sell one

He would have 1 block with 2 different surfaces for HD7900 or other cards. I would hold on to both surfaces for future cards.
