XQPack or SS SG01?

It seems today that most people are using the Aspire X Q Packs. I have only seen maybe 5 SilverStone SG01's around here. The question is, why is that? I really like both cases, but if I go with the Aspire, I can get my SFF quicker because it's less money. The SG01 looks very nice too, but would I be paying too much money for such little features? Also, would anyone be kind enough to share some of their experiences with either cases? I will be using a Biostar Tforce 6 also. Thanks.

Here's a good shot showing several SFF designs to compare

The Q-Pack definitly has better cooling / airflow and if you don't mind how it looks it is a winner!

I prefer the Brushed aluminum compact look of the SG01 and it does a decent job of cooling with the updated SG01-B Evolution model that has two 80mm fans vs the old model which came with 60mm fans.

The only negative (besides the looks) of the X-Qpack is that the stock PSU did not handle the load of my high end components very well - so I had to change it out. Many others have also compained of issues with the stock PSU on this board.

Thank you. I am running an Aspire case right now, so I know how bad their PSUs suck. I am basically just switching from ATX to mATX. I'll be using everything in my sig execpt for the ASUS mobo. I think I might get the QPack because I like how you can fit a Zalman cooler in there and the fact there is a 120mm fan too.

i have a red, windowed, qpack and i have to say i love it. i had to use a gigabyte k8nmf-9 in it as i couldnt manage to get the biostar. i have my 3700+ san diego with a zalman 7700Cu on it and im really happy about this case and the great cooling it provides. im still running mine with the stock PSU and have to say ive not had any problems with it on stock speeds, but it will shut down if i put it under pressure on OC speeds.

so, if i were to get a new sff, id deffinetly get the qpack again. its indeed not as nice as shuttles and the front bezel handle is a joke and makes it look ugly, but its cheaper and has some great room. i dont like the looks of the SG01 so its not an option for me.

I recently purchased a Qpack based on This comparison

I played with the Qpack in Fry's and I'm not really sure about that handle. It doesn't feel sturdy enough to me... but I tend to go for over kill when it comes to what is needed for lifting something.

WOW that article was great! Looks like the Aspire takes the cake! Better cooling, quieter, more room, and better price. I guess I will be jumping on the bandwagon soon! But I am going to be using a Fortron Source Blue Storm PSU instead of the supplied one.

Nice pic dworley!

*bows*

I'm saving a copy of the pic for comparison. Seems that everyone I talk to about building a SFF for wants to know just exactly how much bigger case X is from Y.

I was planning on something like the gear grip. I think I saw one that holds SFF and an LCD but I wanted to get some measurements and see what else there is. I'm tired of dragging the X-box to hotels when I really want to play a PC game.

Will the XP-90 even fit in an SFF case? I've been toying with the idea of going SFF from my current rig and I just assumed that given the size of the XP-90 it wouldn't fit in such a cramped area.

EDIT: Also, I'm curious what adding the additional 60mm fan and Silverstone's cross flow fan would do for the cooling and noise levels. My rig at the moment is somewhat loud anyway so the extra noise wouldn't bother me too much, while having to look at the qpack on my desk would.

the xp-90 won't fit unless you trim the support bar a bit to clear some room for it. i did that, its great but if i'd had to do again i would've stuck with the zalman 7700cu. but if your set on wanting to use your xp-90 then go for it. better than going out and buying another $50 hsf just for that.

edit: i'm talking about a Qpack.
