Xps

Do you guys have any idea what kind of fans they can be using? I heard the XPS is runs at a low temperature, but I seriously can barely hear anything from the computer.

Your best bet would be to just crack the case and have a look.

I dont know but, does its motherboard allow for overclocking?
No.

you didnt say wich xps. they are quit when your doing nothing. the fans are all temp sensor controlled. when u play a game they get a little loud. but never too bad. but they have alot of potentiol. there 120mm, i dont know what speed there max rpm is at, but i can run a fan test. and they run a max speed. and it is insanly loud, alot louder than thermaltake smart case fan 2's that i had a long time ago.

Waste of money then. What kind of garbage "enthusiast" computer doesnt allow enthusiast use?

Gaming enthusiast != hardware enthusiast.

my room mate has one and trust me if you play games for a few... or 5... hours straight you will not be saying that it is quiet. his has 2 92mm thick ass fans in the back that are thermal controled, and trust me, once those beasts start spinning it is super loud.

just took the side panel off and got that pic. there is a green duct that makes it so the fans suck directly off the top of the passivly cooled cpu

my XPS 4 system is super quite even after playing HL2 for hours straight i still don't here

they have the cpu inclosed but from what i can tell there is a huge hs under there and then use a large fan to to coool it with custom duct work.

plus the have two side panel fans that direct air on to the mobo and i added a fan at the from to draw fresh air through the case.

Mac.

o oops there 92mm fans, my bad. he needs to clean the dust outa that thing. i keep mine spotless ehehheheheh

also compslkr, is that an xps gen 2 also. i know its not a 3 or 4 because the different memory and mobo and the heatsink is alot smaller. thats why it gets louder also probably. ive heard the the xps gen 2's got extremely loud, the xps gen 3 and 4 can get that loud, but never get hot enough.

Well I'd think a hardcore gamer would want the most out of their setup. I guess not though, if people buy these.

Thats a messy set-up, maybe a couple of round cables would make things better. To make things even better just dont go dell they are not cool :mad:

What's the thing near the RAM that looks basically like another stick but is angled? Is it just a weird setup for dual channel or something?

It's designed that way so that it's more aerodynamic. You want to create lift in order to get the ram at a high altitude.
