hie people.
I wanted to get xps m1210 from dell.
I read like dozens of threads on xps m1210, and knows a lot of pros about it. I'll be going to overseas to further my education around august this year. I really want to know if there's any cons about it. I heard that the xps models can be quite hot after some time. I don't know if that's true. Does it have heatsink problem?? What other cons?? ANd when is it first introduced?? I don't want to buy a defective ones, as early batch may have problems with them. Please! please! help me in making decisions. I don't want my notebook to have problems and waste my time on fixing the problems. I already had a bad experience with NEC.

i'm on mine right now typing this.There aren't any problems with it and even if you run into problems and you call or chat with their tech support and if your problem warrants a replacement,you get a new one the next business day
It's true it runs hot sometimes with you have the power AC in apart from that i think it's a great lappy
 
I just got mine a week ago and love it. The only con I can think of is, make sure you get the larger battery upgrade. Yes it will stick out a little farther in the back but it is worth it in my opinion. This thing tends to eat up my standard battery in about 3 hrs but usually less...seems to be pretty powerhungry. I have ordered a 6hr battery upgrade. Also get the best video and HD you can afford...you won't be sorry!:D
 
Uhm...Thanks for your opinion guys. When do u guys reckon I place my order? I know this question is kinda stupid, but I hope that I could wait a little longer for a reduction in price...uhm...at least a little bit ( I hope). :D And I'm actually kinda worried about vista also. Well, you guys know wut happened to win ME rite?? Really appreciate it if any Vista user out there to give their opinions.

Glad that you guys helped. This is really a cool forum with cool people. :cool: I tried other forums too, but they end up arguing whether macbook or pc is better. :rolleyes: Sigh.

new intel is chipset coming in march. You'll probably get better peroformance or cheaper (models with old one) if you can wait till then.
