Where can I get a copy?

Does everything need new drivers including things like input devices and stuff or just low level items like Vid/Sound cards?
 
You can get it anywhere. Google it, you will find it.

Pretty much anything that needs a driver will need 64-bit drivers. The only things I didn't have to find was keyboard and mouse drivers...unless you have a specialized keyboard or mouse in which case you'll need the 64-bit software (I can't use my Z-board yet).

BUMMER! That means I will have to make sure my DX-1 has 64 bit drivers, and I am sure my monitor does not have 64-bit drivers for Mouscreen.
 
It's a huge fiasco to switch to x64, honestly no benifits, but that logical thought process didn't stop me!

All drivers for hardware have to be in x64 format.
Like the damn Zboard!

Also, say goodbye to most emulation software (Daemon Tools etc..) you have to use FileDisk
until the new Dtools comes out.
 
Wow, this has to be the laziest post we've seen in quite some time. You can get it at any of the thousand online stores that sell it. If you're asking where to download it from a warez site, thinking again. If you want to know about drivers, why not spend an ounce of effort and look for the drivers yourself. You know what hardware you have, not us, so you'll have to do the work. In 5 minutes, you can have your answers.

Chill man. I wanted to know from people that already installed it if they had to get drivers for their input devices. That question cannot be answered by searching the internet for drivers because the absence of a driver does not mean that it's not required. As you can see some things need drivers, and some don't. standard junk like KB and mouse work, but nothing advanced like a Zboard. I don't see why you're so offended by this.

I searched for XP x64 a few days ago and all I found was a bunch of BS reviews and news posts about it. Maybe instead of flaming me you could just post a link. I'm sure you have searched for something online and didn't find it sometime in the past.
 
Asking other people to do your work for you isn't a great way to get help. You didn't even put forth the effort of posting your system specs. See the pattern here? Instead of taking offense, help us help you. Look around at all the links in peoples sigs referring to asking smarter questions. You wanted to know what kinds of drivers were needed, but you didn't even tell us what hardware you had!!!

I'm not even going to comment on the part about not finding XP64 online for sale. That one just pretty much speaks for itself.

I found all of the drivers I needed by myself. It wasn't very hard.

XP64 does require ALL drivers to be 64-bit, as you cannot run protected mode drivers in long mode kernel space. Same thing with Linux... no 32-bit drivers with a 64-bit kernel. ;)

djnes: don't flame me for this. Sorry if I don't want to go through setting up an account with Newegg if they're just going to say no. And no I have never bought from Newegg before. I am not going to respond to any of your last post because I don't feel like explaining it any more. It seems like you just want to flame me for no good reason. The other respondents are much more helpful.

Josh_B: Thanks for the info I didn't know that about long-mode kernel space.
 
While it is true that you need to be hardware with it, most sites, Newegg included, will throw in something like a fan or a cable to make it legal to buy.

You're original post opened the door for any feedback you were given. Sometime when you get a few minutes, do a search on here for XP64 threads and see how many come back where people ask the same questions, without putting out any effort on their own.

Oh thanks. maybe I'll see what they'll do for me then.

If you read my OP, you'll see that I wasn't asking for drivers or where to find them. Only if I would need 64bit drivers for absolutely everything. I think Josh_B answered that most effectively.
 
Since you didn't post your pc specs I gotta ask

Do you have a 64bit processor?

Before you intend to use XP-X64, check for drivers, chipset, vidcard, network, sound, printer,dsl modem. Basic hardware is covered for the most part, but older hardware drivers are hard to get, also video capture cards drivers are rare.

Furthermore, 16bit installers won't work, some games won't install since they don't recognize xp-64 as a valid OS (Doom3 ROE) or have copy protection that doesn't work with 64bit like splintercell.

There are work around for most of this problems and once you get XP-64 running its hard to go back.
