XP Upgrade, or Full Install?

OK so I gotta reformat my computer before school starts, and I want to know if there would be any real advantage between upgrading to XP from a Windows 2000 install, or if I should just install XP right away.

A clean XP full install will have less crap in it than going from 2k to XP, though it's the best migration of the various combinations.
