XP SP3 Won't install

It keeps saying I need SP1 installed, then I update windows, and it still won't. Has anyone ever seen this before?
 
I'm gonna try installing SP2, I don't know if it's worth downloading.

It's for a customers computer and after some research it seems like SP1 install failed through windows update and it just tried to continue on.
 
Thats kind of odd that you need to install SP1 before installing SP3, isn't it?

Did you try downloading the Administrators Install for Service Pack 3 and applying that?
 
It's letting me install SP2 finally, hopefully SP3 goes in right after, and I know it's odd, but that's what it said.
 
Yea, you have to have either sp1 or sp2 installed to install sp3. Annoying but thats how it goes.
