I got a list of the XP SP 3 Alpha builds confirmed to be in existence. These are all builds post-XP SP2. Here they are.

Incidentally I also found out that IE 7 which is now in beta is also part of XP SP3. I have that installed on my system and I love it.
 
Unfortunately I only have build 2600 :( However, it is very clear that these Alphas exist, so I would not be the least bit surprised if they have been leaked. It is funny how things seem to work that way, much like IE7 beta 1.

So 2604 is the latest build?
 
That is the latest that I am able to report. I don't know if there is more, I'm afraid.
 
Must be a later build I would think. Your list was posted here last February. Wouldnt think that would be the last build.

I wouldn't think that would be the last. I wasn't able to get any more information on the latest builds. I totally see where you are coming from and am inclined to agree. There are no doubt other builds, but unfortunately I don't know. That's all the information I could get my hands on tonight.

Where did you get your info from? Or was that the site where you got your list?
 
I'm doing a Google search for the latest build but I can't find it yet. It HAS to be out there somewhere.

I did come across this.. The alpha must be in testing, as here is a bug report for it. Obviously people are getting their hands on it.

Oh well. Who cares? heh. The alpha builds are in existence and SP3 is on the way. I have seen the list of about 100 hotfixes that will be in it. It made my eyes go out of focus though. lol

I got it from Google. I was bored. It was posted by a guy that works for Microsoft apparently. Good enough for me. :)

If I get bored later I will try and see if I can find the latest build. I don't know if Microsoft will tell me or not.
 
yippy ..hoorah..... we cant get half the putz's here to upgrade to sp2 and now people are worried about something that wont get issued for 8 months...

Service Pack 3 will be just a bunch of hotfixes and security patches...

IE7 is nice, but so is Firefox...

The really nice thing coming soon from MS that I am playing with right now is the new File System that was dumped from the initial offering of Vista...WinFS. Been messing with the beta for about a month now...very cool stuff. I am actually glad they are going to offer this as an addon for both XP and Vista.
