I bought a dell a while back and it came with XP. I am building a computer and I was wondering if it would let me use the XP that came with my dell. I am going to be using a different harddrive.
 
it can be loaded but like he said...its illegal and M$ does not like it...when you go to activate it, you might get a problem...thats about it
Go spend the few bucks for xp
 
After feb28 of this year, you can no longer activate over the internet the xp editions from the major oem's, So you'll have to call them.

and its not legal anyways.. the license is tied to the original system and cant be transfered
