am i to assume they are both one and the same? corporate is just for installing in multiple computers? but the software itself is the same thing?

yes, they are the same. one is for single license, other is a multiple license.

Kinda.

They both do the same thing. Pretty much the "corp" copy is called a volume license or open license. It is an upgrade license to install xp pro on a system. Yes it is a full version of xp pro that does not have to be activated. Really the only difference in the software is that a vld does not need to be activated. Everything elce is the same other then how you license them.

The software is not quite the same thing. The VLK edition and retail edition have different key licensing mechanisms. That is to say, only the VLK software will take VLK keys and vice versa.

Yes, this is true. There are no differences in terms of the features included in the OS though. Both are the usualy XP Pro installs.
