hi i posted earlier but no one replied so i thought i'd give it one more shot. I just installed a geforce2 mx 400 video card in my comp and i did all the steps in the sticky with driver cleaner etc.. but windows still loads up in that crappy default mode. when i load up it does say nvidia geforce 2 on the top but once it gets to windows theres stilll same resolution. the card does turn on and the fan starts. under device managers theres no option for video control what so ever. i have tried to install the new nvidia drivers but that doesn't work either. think the problem now is just getting XP to recognize the card is there. can anyone help me?thanks!

the problem is that that thing is ancient.

they don't even sell mx400's anymore... nothing earlier than an mx440.

sounds like it's time to upgrade.
