XP mobile 2600+ O/C help!

I am running an mobile barton 2600+ on a DFI Inf Ultra. The rig is watercooled and MBM say temps are around 96 deg. F. at idle and 113 deg. F at load. the case temps are right around 68 deg. F which is what digital thermostat says. The cards plugged into the mobo are Radeon 9800 pro AIW and SB Audigy, I am using the onboard NIC.
I bought the CPU off of a fellow [H]er who had it pushed into the 2.5-2.6 ghz range. My problem with the setup is that I can run fine at 166*15, but can't push the fsb any higher than 170 or so. I am running a matched 256*2 PC3200 ram, but I can't even get the system to post at 200*10. Any ideas, if it is the ram that is holding me back how can I test that?
 
Try using an evil divider and raising the fsb to 200. I say evil because anything not 1:1 on an nforce is horrid performance, but at least you'll be able to make sure its the ram holding you back.

Thank you, I hadn't even thought of that but it makes perfect sense.

cpu is 1.75v, chipset, ram, agp are all set to auto.
 
I upped the Vcore to 1.825 and set the system to 166*15 but the ram speed to 200 bus. And it boots fine. If I try and set the system to say 10 * 200, wham nothing happens. I actually have to pull the battery to the cmos to get the thing to reset.

Any ideas why I can run at 2490 with a 166 bus, but can't even boot at 2000 with a 200 mhz FSB?
 
lanparty did this... arctic silvering/putting a 40 mm fan on the north bridge seemed to help a little(after arctic silver the sink actually got warm)

but what helped the most is the latest bios dfi released... additionaly.. the lanparty by default sets chipset voltage to 1.70 according to nvidia system utility...

too bad you dont have the diagnistic leds.. they are a big help when trying to figure out where it failed

before north bridge mod and bios i would have to hit the reset button multiple times to get it to post.. maybe two or 3 times... it seemed to only do it if i powered it up or pressed the reset button... software reset did not do this

try this out and post back... maybe ill be able to help you fig it out
