Im using a 2600+ XP-m on a NForce2 Shuttle SN45GV2 and the Soundstorm. My question is whether OCing will have any affect on the audio?

Cuz I recently tried the MGS2 Substance PC version and the audio for the FMV parts is REALLY bad with a lot of static and what not. Its all garbled and stuff. The thing is the menu music and sounds are all fine.

Also I played Warhammer 40k Dawn of War. And periodically, the sound will just stop for a second and start up again.

I also get weird audio not syncing up with Leisure Suit Larry Magna Cum Laude. Like sometimes the lips move but theres no speech. Then after a couple secs, it'll play what was missing along with the current audio simultaneously.

MP3s all play fine from Winamp though.

I recently got some AS5 and increased my OC from 2300 to 2500 right now. Is there any way the OCing is messing with the audio? Im guessing no right? I also updated to the lastest NForce drivers recently too... I know theres a lot of changes to the comp and it could be anything. Just wondering if anyone knew what was going on. Thanks in advance.

it can... check to see if your south bridge is overheating... also set your memorys Tras to 11
noth/south bridge overheating can be the cause of it.. when i pump it to 2.7 ghtz the chipset gets too hot so i needed to pop a 40mm fan on the south bridge heat sink

On many nForce2 motherboards the southbridge does get too hot for comfort, which can cause audio problems. However, the problems you describe could also easily be caused by weird drivers and system setup problems. I would definitely check out the overheating problem first, but after that I'd look at the software aspect.
