I've been scratching my head and searching for about 2 days nonstop with no luck.
I have a USB external drive and for some reason, perhaps due to some virus or something, every time I try to open it by double clicking or pressing enter results in a "Open with" dialog coming up. Now this behavior is limited to that exact USB drive. My internal hard drive, USB flash drive, and optical drives work fine. Even if I change the drive letters, it is still wonky. I've run a virus scan and I'm clean.
Now, I think I figured out what the problem is. When you right click on your C:\ icon, you see a menu with open being the first as well as being in bold. Now for my USB external, the right click options list auto as the first and in bold. I'm guessing that the bold indicates the default action.
So bottom line, anyone know how I can edit the menu or change the order? Thanks.
