XP-90 question

I just ordered the XP-90 heatsink from newegg, do you need a fan for it too, or is it just the XP-90 that you need?

And if you do, can you guys recommend a good fan for it, I am not really good with fans.........

And by the way, this is for a 3200+ venice

unless you got the RT version it needs a fan

i use a 90mm Thermantake silent cat fan, but a lot of people reccomend the panflows, the m1 i think

The one on newegg needs a fan. I have a 92mm Panaflo on mine, does great, some of the other good fans are the Delta Triblades and the thermaltake silentcat. I'd go that route if i was you. But it does support both 92mm and 80mm fan, so when you first get it a cheap 80mm case fan does the job.

yeah, I have a panaflo 92mm fan, but to get the job done of dispersing heat, you need at lesat a cheap 80mm fan, but a good 92mm fan would be the best.

yes, its exactly what i have. when shopping panaflo's make sure they are tailed, this one says 3pin connector so it is.

that'd do ya good, its a little loud at full tilt, but you can use the software with your motherboard to make it whisper quiet when your not doing much and cooling like mad when you need it.

Tailed? Explain.

Most Panaflo's are bare wire leads, you need either a 3pin motherboard Tail or a 4 pin PSU tail. If you hit sites like FrozenCPU, PerformancePCS, Sidewinder you'll see they give you a choice, its also why many panaflo's don't support RPM monitioring.

I'll report back here when I test the Nexus 92mm with the XP-90 on a Venice 3200+. It's a much quieter fan than the rest.
