i got an asus a8n-e and a xp-90, doe it matter how its positioned? i can have it blow down on the mosfet heatsink, or i can have it blow down on the ram, i have a side fan on my case that blows on the ram so i put it over the mosfets. does it matter which way it goes?

i think its a matter of personal preference. As long as your cpus under it and it fits on sercure; dun make much of a difference. I personally have mine lowing down directly on my ram. I would have to take myxp-90 ioff to take a stick of ram out probably however; so your milleague may vary

well I heard something about the heatpipes needing to be vertical for best performance..

will only fit on my mobo w/ the overhang being down or up.... which would give the same orientation to heatpipes for the most apart...
I've got a question for anyone who installed one on an Athlon 64 system:
Are the fins horizontal or vertical when the HSF is installed in a standard case, on the default mounting hardware? Or can you install it in all 4 positions (doubtful)? Due to the motherboard I want, it would really help if the fins were horizontal so it would blow the air towards the rear HSF connected to the northbridge heatpipe on Abit's new Silent-OTES motherboards.
