XP-90 needs fan?

I'm looking to buy an XP-90 for an AMD Athlon64 3200+ and I was wondering if it needs a cooling fan or is that optional? If so, which fan do you recommend.

Yes, especially if you live down here in FL. a 92mm Panaflo is good. Any 92mm fan, really.

I have the 92mm panaflow and my temps were idle 32c before I overclocked. With 1.55 volts my cpu is still holding strong with 35c @ idle. I also have great airflow though.

I have the SI-97, it holds a 92mm fan....so I zip-tied a Nexus/YateLoon Orange 120mm to it.

Yes it does need a fan, I tried my XP-120 without a fan and it was fine when idle, but under load it crept close to 80c... stock speeds!

Yeah, idle you can run the xp-120 without a fan with no worries. While folding it gets to hot though.

I bought a 90mm thermaltake 4000rpm fan, it came with a manual knob for speed or temp sensor. It also lights up blue but the point for me was more cfm.. It works real good on my xp-90.

ThermalTake SilentCat 90mm. ~50cfm ~20dba.

I don't know if it really does 50cfm, but its definately quiet.

guys, report load temps, idle temps dont mean a heck of alot. John, I used to have a 90mm CAT and then I got a panaflo. What a world of difference, same airflow, even quieter, one of the best $8 I've ever spent.

I have a 92mm Vantec Tornado fan I just ordered that is 55db

I'll let you know how loud it is in a case with 5 other fans

I'm planning on OC'ing the living hell out of it though
