Im trying to install my xp-90. I removed the stock retention bracket then i go to install the one that came with the xp 90 I go to screw it in. Put the screws in, there is no threads or anything no bolts and no plate on the back to secure the screws. So what do i need to fix this? Mother board is as rock 939Dual-SATA2/a/asr

The stock retention bracket should have at least something behind the motherboard to reinforce and spread the weight around. There's nothing at all behind the motherboard?

The stock one was just held in by some plstic piecies that were split and expaned to secure it. It was scerwed in the same way the xp-90 needs to be. So yeah nothing at all behind it. So yeah, woudl getting soem screws and botls from a hardware store be a bad idea.?

if u get new bolts, make SURE you install some plastic washers on the back of the mobo.. if not, the nut will be contacting and grinding into the mobo..

My xp90-c came with an x brace for the back of the mobo... did you buy a retail version?

Wow no backplate, scary. The X-brace that comes with the XP90C is meant for pentium boards. I'm assuming Kakashi here has an amd board.

There are 4 holes. THere were litte plastic clips going through each of them. Thats about it. The 2 screw holes werent used it all. I ordered the backplate but im worried now that its not compatible. I emailed tech support they said the stock bracket would work. And it cleary dosent. Then they said its not compatible then. So i dont know. I hope they are wrong anyways,

Ok, when I get back from class I'll type up the directions for installing an xp90-c... it came with k8 instructions too. I'll try and see which part you're missing. I know mine came with a metal retention bracket and metal x brace for behind the mobo that goes on the p4s... but it also came with a similar plastic retention bracket, maybe that was for the k8 install?

Well i ordered the backplate, that should probably take care of it. If it dosent ill let you guys know.
