I've seen Burner27 promoting the new Thermalright xp-90, which appears to be a great heatsink, but has anyone got any experience with it yet?? Just wondering what everyone else thought about it compared to the SLK94?

Link? I haven't seen myself so I'm pretty interested in checking it out.

I ordered an XP90 when the XP120 that i ordered didn't fit due to space considerations as well as performance issues (it performed the same as my SP94). I saw the review of the xp90 and how it is at the TOP of the list on www.overclockers.com. So I ordered one. Should be here next week. I will let you guys know.

tell me if its worth the $$$ for the upgrade, I currently have an SP-94, getting 39c temps @ 3.45GHz 1.675V

burner27, any news on that xp90???

/bump!

They shipped it out today. I will hopefully have it by the end of the week and I can report back to you guys.

gimme some answers about this heatsink now! haha, i wanna buy one if its as good as it is rated!

Ok, took me about 2 hours to do (unmounting the mobo and unhooking the SP94 (man, it weighs a ton compared to the XP90) and then mounting the XP90 with a thermaltake 90mm fan that pushes 56cfm@2850rpm@35db and then putting all my stuff back together).

Here is my official readings:

SP94 Idle = 36c
XP90 Idle= 32c

SP94 Load= 44c
XP90 Load= 41c

So far I am impressed. Didn't think anythng could knock the temps lower than the SP94, but there ya go. Keep in mind I reapplied a new layer of AS5 after cleaning the processor. So these temps may go lower as it cures.

Anybody want to buy a used SP94 with a Panaflo fan

Been pummeling my processor for the past 3 hours now at 100% load:

Temp = 40c

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. So nice!!!!!

what are you using to pummel your processor?? i want to strain mine to similar means and see the difference in temps
