got an xp-90 a week or so ago and i got a question about my temps. Using stock hsf i was hitting 51c on the OC as load temp and 35cish range as idle. Now with the xp-90 w/ panaflo fan i am getting 33-35c idle and 48-51c load. Was curious about this cause shouldnt it be a lot lower then that over a stock hsf. I am using AS Ceramique atm.

Cooling atm is:

I have 3 intake fans and 1 exhaust fan all 80mm generic fans. 2 fans in my PSU (Thermaltake Smartfans) and an ati silencer on my gfx card. xp-90 has a panaflo on it.

I am thinking i need to remount the xp-90 and redo the grease or something cause getting near same results with a 3rd party hs should at least yeild good results. I know when i went to the ati silencer i got a good decrease in temps on load.

Any input would be nice, thanks.

I just installed an XP-90 on my x2 4000+ and those temps are similar to mine. I never installed the stock heatsink so I don't know what to compare to. I too was thinking maybe I need to reinstall it, it seems to me that they should be cooler. Anyone have any thoughts?

What stock heatsink came with it? The plain aluminium POS or the one with heatpipes (which is in fact a decent cooler)?

With my config below and an ambient temp of ~77F, my CPU idles at 29C and is about 38C under load.
